It’s a community club run by and for the members. We believe that the Club is the oldest and only surviving river swimming club in the country.
Opening period: 1st May - 30th September but may extended in warm weather.
Membership: Annual membership only (NO day or junior membership)
Facility: Toilet, Changing Hut, Car Park
Annual events: AGM and Working Party is held annually, please see Club News for details.
Designated Bathing Water Status: We are glad to be awarded the status in 2024 to have a hope in the long term that this will lead to an improvement in water quality.
Please do not forget that this does not guarantee that on any given day the water is safe to swim in. This decision has to be at your own discretion.

Founded in 1933, the Farleigh & District Swimming Club is believed to be the oldest river swimming club in the country. This is the original "wild swimming club".
A 70m stretch of deep water, with shallows near the weir.
The club has over 5,000 members and could be considered the home of wild swimming.
